Full quote from Parker's interview for Serbian outlet Sport Club, after he mutually terminated his contract with Partizan a couple days ago:
" I wish all the best to the Serbian people. You have a wonderful country. The elections are coming up and everyone should vote. It's a very important moment, so everyone should go out and vote. That's basically all I have to say. I'm a person who believes in love. And I'm marching on"
"The moments I spent with the youth were very nice. When children came up to me, appearing amazed and wanting to take a picture with me, I tried to devote my time to them. They deserve that because they represent the future. One day they'll shape this country and everything that's nice in it. The future is in their hands"
The parliamentary elections in Serbia are being held today and are currently heading towards a record voter turnout.
The main two electoral lists are the coalition around the rulling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), which has been in power for the last 14 years, and the Student List, which is made up of professors, doctors, intelectuals, famous athletes and artists, and other people that were chosen by the students of Serbia.
The Serbian students have organized massive anti-corruption protests all around Serbia for the past two years, after a canopy fell at the Novi Sad train station, killing 16 people.
The Serbian students urged the government to convict its officials who were responsible for the canopy falling and to release all the documents of the reconstruction of the canopy, which took place not too long before the fall, but the government refused to do so and attacked the students instead.
The students then decided to become politically active, form their own electoral list and urge the government to call snap elections, which were finally called recently.
The Student List has massive support in the public and with the high voter turnout, are favourites to win in this election and put an end to the reign of SNS.
The presidental elections in Serbia are also coming up and have to be held by the end of the year.

Hungary has managed to get rid of our idiot in April, cheering hard for our Serbian brothers today! Good on Jabari for voting on change, Vucic has to go.

It’s genuinely heartwarming seeing how much Hungary is supporting the students in the elections. Lots of people in the Croatian and Montenegrin subreddit are at best indifferent or want us to fail even tho the elections are more relevant for them than for Hungary. Croatia has, just like Hungary, a minority living in Vojvodina and Montenegro and Serbia are still extremely intertwined in so many aspects. Must be crab mentality

Hungary has no real conflicts with Serbia unlike those two countries.

Jokić has made millions playing basketball and probably earned even more through sponsorships, yet he still chooses to promote gambling. That tells you everything you need to know about his morals.

That's true, but it's more like he has to do it to cover for his criminal brothers

Complicity is still a crime and not to be apologised.
Dude could finance his entire family and friends, yet chooses to be part of their opportunistic scheme.

And his criminal father, as far as I know.

Obligatory: Fuck Jokic
He's an ambassador for one betting company in Serbia, btw.

Morals? Maybe, maybe not. It's simpler than that. Athletes are uneducated simpltons who chased the ball their whole lives. He might think he's doing a good thing.

Jokic not even bothering to speak on this?

He endorsed Vucic, the incumbent

Back in 2023, he was on the published list of public figures who support SNS.
He's never publicly talked about politics, I frankly don't even think he cares at all, but his family has a lot of land in Sombor and his brothers have a criminal history as well, so I don't doubt that they get some leway from the government in exchange for his support.

Oh he cares, he just knows talking about it won't bring him anything good.

Such a disgrace sadly

Really? When?

In past elections he was on the list of people who support his election list. I don't think he said anything this time but you know its very clear where his sympathies lie.
Also the fact that's he can basically do whatever he wants in his hometown due to his SNS connections makes it even more clear where he sits.

Jokic is happy with the government as it is now lol
19. u/Hendlton · 2026-10-25 14:40 UTC
I don't know if he's personally happy with the government, but his family is involved in a lot of shady business in Serbia so he can't speak out against the government.

Because he's on the government side
