[KNBR] Steve Kerr on Yaxel Lendeborg: “We got torched by Luka as a team. I don’t care — all those stats that the NBA puts up like, ‘Hey, when he guarded …’ who the F cares? Like, they scored 128 on us. That stuff’s all bullshit. It’s our defense, and he knows that.”

They haven't really liked anything lately. Every thread I come across is really negative

It’s been that way for a while. Basketball is my favorite sport, and the NBA my favorite league, but I find the fanbase on social media to be truly insufferable compared to the other sports. Like the NFL subreddit seems to actually like the sport and is better about appreciating teams and players that aren’t their personal favorites.

I think it’s because the NBA is much more player centric and most discourse in sports is around players rather than teams. Like in the NFL most discourse is around the quarterbacks because they are the big name high impact players. In the NBA basically every player is high impact and highly visible.

I feel a lot of this sub are analytical nerds, who are more fans of the stats players put up rather than the players themselves. And then when the players have a personality or don’t live up to the stats, they get mad.

Agreed, and because all players accumulate the same stats (PTS, REB, AST etc.) it’s so easy to compare even if it’s not sensible to do so.

It’s always been like this, unfortunately. Flairs on the nfl subreddit also leads to jokes whereas here it is used entirely to try to discredit what someone is saying. Place is so toxic.

IMO fantasy football’s popularity plays a big part in fans appreciating others team and their players. It’s easy to be supportive of players and your fantasy team!

But he held his own against Luka!

i hate it when comments like this are at the top. "nba reddit won't like this" says the guy in the nba reddit. and it's top comment in the nba reddit. gives "i know i am gonna get downvoted for this but..." vibes.

You don’t like this? Lol aren‘t you a part of nba reddit?

No one is sick and tired of him talking, were just making fun of his "I used to respect him, but now I don't cause he talks to the refs" comment. Because that means he's going to have zero respect for anyone after his first year in the league.
Dude made a dumb comment.

Dudes a huge baby. I don’t think Luka has even talked about this since the game lol or even addressed it.

Not really, Luka has always been known for his complaining. I've heard so many fans say the exact same thing over the years. Great player but don't like him because of the constant crying.

And none of that changes what we are talking about lol, we are laughing at him cause all the superstars talk to the refs, whats he gonna do vs SGA? lose respect for him too?? It was a dumb comment, and we makin fun of that.
No one wants him to shutup and no one is saying Luka doesnt do that.
