I’m crying man, this shit means something to me

He was so close to pulling off one of the greatest title runs of all time and being talked about like how Brunson is now talked about. Hope he crushes it this season he deserves it (and I was THRILLED when the Kings traded him to the east)

No offense to the Knicks, but that Pacers run would've been one of the greatest runs ever. That would've been legendary. That was one of the most unbelievable, odds-defying postseasons ever. If you look at my post history, I compiled all the crazy stats I could find about their playoff run back when it was ongoing. True insanity

The Knicks' run is pretty great because of how dominant it was then the crazy comebacks in the Finals itself.
But as for 'holy shit I can't believe what I'm seeing' the Pacers from round one all the way to the Finals kept having miraculous comebacks and incredible end of game finishes. It was incredible to watch

It was so good

**except for the Hawks. It's still wild they were down to Atlanta and then just casually swept through the rest of the league.

Didn't they utterly annihilate the Hawks the rest of the way after going down 2-1
9. u/freshOJ · 2026-10-22 12:32 UTC
Yes, yes they did.

If you wrote the Pacers' playoff run as a film script, they'd tell you no one would believe it.

Genuinely would rival 2011 mavs for greatest run

Rick Carlisle

Nah. It would've been an all timer for Haliburton specifically, due to his game winners. Does anyone remember anything else about the Pacers besides for his play?
The Mavs beating the big 3 was completely unexpected.

Nesmith game, Siakam going demon mode in pregame and TJ crying in the tunnel

Nesmith Game 1 ECF, Siakam posterizing JDub, TJ McConnell stunting on celebrity row, Nembhard putting SGA in a blender and pissing Brunson off so bad he headbutted him

It still is one of the greatest runs ever imo. But I’m biased
17. u/ShindouRomm · 2026-10-22 03:50 UTC
Not biased and it absolutely is. I own a 1-1414 t shirt from that run as some of the only non raptors merchandise in my possession.

The OKC title still feels hollow to me. OKC was still the objectively best team that year, but nothing can convince me Pacers don't win that game if Halburton plays. One of the most tragic sports moments I can remember.

I don’t take offense. That was a legendary run from the pacers. Would I haven’t been fun to watch a game seven where everyone was healthy.

If you guys went all the way it would have been more amazing than our run was tbh
